Hi, I'm Rouan. I'm building cadrs, a free and open-source parametric CAD app written in Rust, with a Bevy UI and an OpenCASCADE modeling kernel.
Find it at https://github.com/rvdende/cadrs
Professional CAD tools are mostly closed, cloud-locked or expensive. cadrs aims to give you the full feature-based workflow without that: sketch on a plane, constrain and dimension, build parts from features, put them together in assemblies, and make drawings. All of it runs locally, and your files stay yours.
What's there today
- Constraint-based sketching with a live solver
- Extrude, revolve, sweep, loft, fillet, shell, holes, patterns, booleans and more, all editable
- Assemblies with mates, exploded views and BOMs
- Drawings with views, sections, dimensions and BOM tables
- PCB Studio, linear static FEA, a path-traced renderer, and STEP/IGES/STL/DXF/SVG import
